Unfinished

Savoring one of those rare uninterrupted studio days. 
Re-purposing an abstract that felt like it should be a nest...(I LOVE the organic nest shape!!)
As I was working I was hearing the voice of my favorite art mentor/teacher growing up - she used to always say "a good artist knows WHEN to stop."
(Haha)
I think about her words often and oh how many times I overwork things (not just paintings bc I don't feel free enough to walk away.)
All of this made me think about how much I love this painting just as it is - UNFINISHED... It's beautiful to me like it is right now.
I wonder about the heart of God? How many things does HE allow to be "unfinished" because they are beautiful as they are...?
Pondering these things gives me a bit of freedom today - 
Thankful for the process- it's always teaching me...

Even though so many things are left "unfinished" in this life or seem NOT as they should be ...
